ANGWS

Guardian of the Forge

Sculpted By Raul LaTorre

Angws hails from the nation of Tir-Na-Bor, which was founded at the end of the Winter of Battles. The Giants, children of the Gods, were struggling in their mountain stronghold with the Winters forced sparsity of resources, particularly food. The Dwarven races had hoarded plenty of resources but were left exposed on the plains. A deal was made and the dwarves settled in the caves of the Aegis Mountains.

Tir-Na-Bor developed, sheltered from the world. The mountain dwarves discovered the secrets of metal and the power of steam. This led to the development of massive forges and steam powered engines that nurtured the early dwarven culture. Over time the Mountain became riddled with a gigantic web of tunnels, caverns and great halls. Their technology Is so advanced that they can even stimulate fields of crops within these dark caves and rarely need to leave.

Angws Is one of the Guardians of the Forge. His particular home is the Aegis Forge, the deepest forge in Tir-Na-Bor and the first to be created. As with the common saying “First in, last out,” this is the motto of the Aegis Forge. The first forge, with the founding flame, must never falter. If any enemy managed to breach the mountain, as long as the Aegis forge can function, Tir-Na-Bor will not fall.

Due to his adeptness both in combat and in engineering Angws was stationed here. The position of Forge Guardian of the Aegis Forge is one of the highest honours within all of dwarven society and only 5 may hold it at a time (signified as 5 vents on their hammer of office). The opportunity to rise to this position is only offered to the strongest children of the oldest families under the Aegis, who compete in arduous and often deadly trials for the position. Here he stands diligently, ready to fend off any intruders and fix any failures that afflict the millennia old Aegis Forge.
