Introduction to display painting, March 21 & 22, Bridgend
Introduction to display painting weekend workshop March 21-22 2026
The Event will run in Bridgend city centre, private parking is available on site at no charge. Specific details will be sent to directly to participants.
This workshop will go through the initial steps of my method for painting figures and dioramas giving you the knowledge to follow the same method or work it into your current process.
It is limited to 6 spaces initially to ensure every participant can get a good amount of specific feedback.
The teaching format will consist of a few PowerPoint presentations, group discussions, painting demonstrations and independent feedback. There will NOT be a significant amount of discussion about NMM as it is too large a topic to cover effectively in few hours.
Timings will be 10-6 on the Saturday and 9-5 on the Sunday although participants may leave early on Sunday if required.
The model choice will be provided and will include a model from Durgin paint forge printed to be ~ 40mm tall and primed in advance.
Lunch will not be provided, however there is a Big Tesco within walking distance and many available options on food delivery apps. The venue does also have a simple kitchen with a sink, kettle and microwave.
You will need:
Wet pallette + paper
Paints and brushes
Water pot
Something that you can look at references images on ( phone, ipad, laptop etc..) and charger
Painting light
A holder for the model
Bluetac and Superglue
Anything else you would normally need for your painting
